The Forgotten 8er - 70 years of BMW Coupé

The latest official line-up titled "70 years BMW Coupé" released upon the presentation of the 2011 6-series coupé (Type F13), which, if one so wishes, can be seen as the grandson to the 8er, included "all" BMW coupés, even not so well known ones like the 3200 CS Bertone.

Only two coupés went missing on this shot taken in front of the BMW bowl and 4-cylinder HQ in Munich. There was no sign of the mid 1960´s BMW 2000CS, which generously might be thought merged with the E9 series on the above picture.

The 8er was missing too. Was it forgotten on purpose due to its still gorgeous looks which might have taken away attention from its new sibling? There may be other reasons but those are for people that don´t relate to the 8.
