BMW Individual in the 90´s offered a number of things of practical value that could not be found on the standard E31 option list, amongst this Park Distance Control (PDC). Most of the offerings through Individual though were only to satisfy the requirements for luxury and personal taste of the buyer. In 1992 275 DEM (ca. 175 USD) bought you leather covered coat hooks.
A leather clad dashboard required a much deeper look into the soon-to-be owner´s purse. The listed price was no less than 4850 DEM (ca. 3100 USD).
Many of those to date have lost their value - given time and temperature leather dries and shrinks with dramatic consequences even destroying the structure underneath.
