Commentary: 
  • This color was introduced to the 8er September 1989 and ended its run with one of the final Euro S70 850CSi's produced October 1996.
  • Most sales of this color ocurred in North America, Germany, and Japan.
  • Only 265 8er's worldwide were built with this color out of 30,621 produced (or .86%).  Of those 265 Glacier Blue 850's, only 67 came to North America.
  • As a subset of all 850's, it's even rarer for the M70 850i/Ci 6spd version in Glacier Blue 850.  Worldwide there were 36, with only 10 coming to North America.  Mr. V Chisare is one of the lucky few 8er owners of a  North American-spec Glacier Blue 850i 6spd (picture shown to the left).
  • Alpina B12 5.0 coupe Nbr 33 came in this color along with one reported UK Synter conversion.
  • Glacier Blue was not offiically offered for the 850CSi --- so three German owners special ordered cars in this rare color.
